The Also Prayer

The also in Jesus’ prayer has the effect of revealing our history as well as our destiny.  We can see that our faith has a heritage.  The “those who have believed in Me through their word” goes back ultimately to the original disciples but includes every generation of belief from then until now.  We may not be able to trace our spiritual heritage as easily as our family tree but whatever we can know will reveal a heritage of faith that may or not be attached to our relatives.
