When Servants become Friends

John 15:12-17

How does a servant become the friend of the one whom they had previously related to as a servant?

It is first the prerogative of the master to invite his servant to be his friend. Such a transition is never offered lightly. Good servants are hard to find and there is risk involved in such an invitation. Friends have higher expectations of one another than servants and masters. There is a greater chance of disappointment and disillusionment.
